The client's single most important request: as the only cook, she wanted to enjoy the garden view from her island both when she cooked and washed dishes.
Design rules dictate a "Y- shaped" island solution. But breaking the rules, we placed the cooktop and the clean-up sink at a 90 degree angle, so that the client can easily turn from the one to the other.
