"Fifty years in this business, there isn't a mistake I haven't made—you name it, I've made them all!" – DeWitt Talmadge Beall
DeWitt was born in the Kitchen and Bath Design Industry: he designed and drafted his first kitchen at thirteen, and was managing his father’s showroom by the time he was a freshman at Dartmouth.
In his long prolific career which spanned from Interior Design to Home Remodeling, Lighting Design and Photography among others, DeWitt designed (or participated in the design of) over 2,000 kitchens, many for movie industry celebrities. He designed and owned several showrooms in the Los Angeles area before he founded DeWitt Designer Kitchens in Studio City, and trained dozens of new designers with whom he shared his "secrets of the trade."
DeWitt has been published in L.A. Times, L.A. Times Magazine, House Beautiful, Good Housekeeping, Kitchen & Story (cover story 2 times) and in numerous articles and covers of Kitchen and Bath Design News. He was also published and participated in the books Kitchen & Bath Showcase, and Kitchens. His last appearance was in HGTV's Kitchen Trends 2005.
Always an avant-garde artist, he has been awarded for three of his designs, most recently at the National Kitchen & Bath Association Design Contest.
